Process – Narrative

In the “Give Project” (2015), I received handmade paper marked collaborate / create / make.

For me, every gift carries meaning—bringing emotions, memories, and connection to the giver.

My art transforms natural materials into conceptual, functional objects, especially light sculptures.

Light creates atmosphere and highlights symbols.

For this project, I integrated the paper with pine bark—gifts from nature. Bark protects, pine trees symbolize transformation. Through them, I shape my own forms and ideas.

"Simply nature"

series of 6 lamps

Inspiration:

nature capped in ice

without light it is like a picture - nice to look at

with lights on it creates atmosphere and light

in winter time there seem to be everything covered by snow and ice!

this series of lamps show nature embedded in ice! By integrating light mood changes.

These lamps can be both: without light a picture on the wall; as soon as the lights are switched on it creates a warm atmosphere and has a function in addition.

The first movement of the Symphony in G minor by W. A. Mozart, shaped by nine recurring tones, is perceived through my formal language acoustically, visually, and emotionally.

The wavelengths of my colors – the frequencies of my tones – and the lengths of the organ pipes are in harmony with one another. ©Lucia Jopp

Rethinking Brick
Material enthusiasm meets form exploration
Diversity through variation

2023

Process – Narrative

Design project - A brick is an artificially manufactured masonry unit made of ceramic material and widely used in construction. Bricks can be arranged in various bonding patterns. The standard size is 24 × 11.5 × 7.1 cm, with formats and colors varying by region.
Brick color is mainly influenced by mineral content, firing temperature, material composition, and additives.
This material study explores variations in color and additives, while all bricks are made from the same base materials: concrete and sand.
